WORK has begun on a new fast food restaurant which is on its way to south Birmingham.

A Burger King restaurant is under construction at the Morrisons Daily site on Birmingham Road in Rubery and is expected to open on November 26.

The scheme involves converting part of the existing petrol station, including the removal of the car wash and a single-storey extension to create a hot food takeaway.

The project was approved under planning application 2025/03257 and includes an extraction flue, a new bin store, and other site works.

In addition to the restaurant, the development will add eight ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging bays and four Power Foam jet wash bays.

Burger King is one of the UK’s largest fast-food chains, known for its flame-grilled Whopper burgers, chicken meals, and drive-thru service.

The Rubery location will serve nearby communities including Rednal, Longbridge, and surrounding areas.

Construction has become increasingly visible in recent weeks as work continues toward the planned opening.

If completed on schedule, the restaurant will begin trading just ahead of the busy Christmas period.

This will add another national brand to Rubery’s roadside retail offering.
